An organized swap is one where you are assigned a stamp set and then you make several designs from the set (in our group usually 3-4) and then Times the number of people. This week we had 10 members of our group participating in a new catalog swap and I selected the Sheltering Tree stamp set and decided to tackle all four seasons!!
The first one that I did was to stick to the new in-colors in a spring inspired card! I used Watermelon Wonder on the leaves, Tip Top Taupe for the tree and swing, Cucumber Crush for grass, Delightful Dijon for the flowers, and Mint Macaroon for the butterfly! The window is cut out with the Project Life framelits!
Summer was heralded in with this canopy view! I really love the lettering embossed in gold from the Tin of Cards stamp set! The sun is from the Eclectic set and the hardwood stamp provides a nice backdrop!
Now my winter card is a special technique called crayon resist. You use photo paper and Memento Ink to stamp the tree. Then use a white crayon to draw the snow on the tree and then use Lost Lagoon on a sponge to color the background!
Now where did fall go? I always struggle with one card in a four card swap. I really struggled with the layout as they all seemed tired. So I made a 3D cracker gift with a small tag that used the stamp set in a fall motif. But I forgot to take pictures!! Oh well!
But hopefully you understand what a swap is now and I can't wait to post what my friends have created soon!
Why don't you join my team? Then we can swap!!!! There's a great join promotion going on right now where you can get TWO free stamp sets through the end of June!!!! Ask me about this!
Happy crafting,
Melissa
