I am loving the new Home for Christmas paper! At first I wasn't sure about its retro look but now... Well Rudolph speaks for himself! And Santa? adorable! The ornaments look terrific with the satin ribbon and gold glimmer paper behind them! And have I mentioned that the star button was made to go on top of this Christmas tree??? This is my favorite card lately!! Plus, I love the font on this stamp! It's the Cozy Christmas stamp set!! Ready to make your own? Click on the order products tab and remember...
Happy crafting, Melissa This stamp set is so amazing because it works for all three holidays! We combined it with the Among the Branches embossing folder to create some gorgeous cards this weekend! If you haven't been to one of my classes- you should come-- we have fun, make some pretty stuff, and always have tea and treats! The toughest one was this Halloween one with a brayered background! It's pretty neat though-- you just use a brayer to add color to the embossing folder (the side with the Sizzix printed on it) and then run it through... This pretty card is perfect for fall and Thanksgiving. The gold thread adds a nice delicate touch to the card, as does the wooden actin! I loved the use of the Washi tape and the little reindeer clip! I used Tip Top Taupe as my card base color and I think it worked well! This last card is my favorite- the natural card base, the Mossy Meadow inked sentiment, the Merry Moments DSP, and the gorgeous Mossy Meadow striped cotton ribbon! It feels luscious!!! I'm not really one for a rustic looking Christmas card but I really love this one!!!
Happy crafting, Melissa I am co-hosting a kids' craft table at a craft fair on the 17th and I wanted each round of kids to make a simple card and a treat bag! This one is Halloween themed and filled with what else-- candy corn! This next bag is super simple but requires some sponging and a stamp I carved using some tools from the art store (think old school linoleum cutting!) We decided to do two rounds of Halloween, one round of Thanksgiving and then a "Frozen" round... This one for Thanksgiving is fun because they get to use the Big Shot to emboss the bag and a circle punch! The final treat bag will hold those yummy melty mints and is "frozen" themed... It will allow them to learn how to cut a banner by hand-- super simple!! Do you have kids? Bring them by the Island Craft Guild show at the Omar Shriner Temple in Mt. Pleasant on October 17th! And if not-- you can make these too! Consider a private class-- I can even do it via Facebook!!
Happy crafting, Melissa I try not to be an alarmist about Christmas coming but I do love the idea of prepping ahead of time so I can actually enjoy the month of December. My birthday, my mother in laws birthday, and our wedding anniversary also falls during that magical month so preparation is key- I try to get Christmas gifts lined up now and my cards too! So in that "a little pressure now so no pressure then" mode-- I'll be posting inspirational projects each week until Christmas. This first set of inspiration comes from an online convention that I'm participating in this rainy weekend! There is SO much you can do with our Project Life cards and making cards is one of them! Ronda Wade designed a few cute holiday ones from the Seasonal Snapshot 2015 kit! Behold- fast cards that look fancy! ![]() Would you like to order this and make it? I only added some twine and cardstock! The Seasonal Snapshot kit is $16 and the Accessory kit is $13! You can bundle it all with the stamp set (#140308) for only $38.25! Make sure to check out my online store-- you can find this easily in the Holiday Catalog? Want a catalog? Let me know! Happy crafting, Melissa Well it all starts in Salt Lake City! Beautiful area to fly into! I, of course, brought pillow treats for my roommates all week long-- yummy mints, jelly candies, lemon candies, and chocolate covered sunflower seeds! Don't you want to room with me? I was excited to spend quality time with my sorority sister and upline, Angie Watts! And even more excited to see the new holiday catalog!!!! September-December is my favorite time of year-- I love everything about it-- football, fall leaves, cooler temps, schools back in session, new school supplies, craft opportunities, gift giving opportunities, soup... Yummy! Look at this adorable home decor kit in he new catalog!!!! I'm making one for sure and would love to have a class at your place to do it! And these bags that look like candy corn? Couldn't be easier-- with Washi tape handles!! And this fall card, gorgeous! Everyone loves Prize Patrol-- where if they call out your color-- You win that stamp set!! Candy, our fearless leader, was pretty excited to win Acorny Thank You! Our entire team won something this year! And the funniest moment was when they called out a color and NO ONE HAD IT! Hysterical! We were up to some shenanigans-- that's for sure... Invading sets! Taking pictures with the props... And maybe pilfering some chocolates?? Christmas is by far my favorite and this Cardinal is just calling my name! So was this sushi at Naked Fish. Plus we are a Blue Lemon three times??? So tasty! I highly recommend them both! I love that Pam Morgan and Bonnie Farley have such great senses of humor! They truly crack me up! Here's part of the team in another Christmas set! Seriously-- we had so much fun! I love our team and I love spending time with them during the summer! I laughed so hard my stomach cramped two nights in a row! And I came home inspired and motivated! You should really consider joining my team! We will have so much fun together! I'm about to institute monthly email projects to my team members and quarterly team trainings! Message me for details and happy crafting, Melissa These last few weeks have been a flurry of Christmas prep and classes! Scroll to the bottom for my fast and furious card that went out today... But first... Merry Stars... Then a craft fair with these cuties!! Then a card class... Then an on campus class: Them a few custom orders... Finally teacher gifts and cookies for Marianne's kindergarten class... And a gift wrapping class... And we are done! 108 Christmas cards are out the door... This last one was made with the Work of Art stamp set! Happy crafting, Melissa Look's simple huh? Well, my friend (and upline) Angie Watts did a fabulous job with the Christmas Bauble stamp for our team's Holiday Catalog Swap--- Go Southern Sweet Stampers!! My favorite was the traditionally colored one below. This one embossed in gold really makes the leaves and berries pop! I love those Blendabilities markers! Of course the All is Calm color set looks nice too... And I love the "Be Joyful" from the Project Life holiday stamp set!! And for those who like non-traditional colors-- here we are-- a gorgeous specimen in blues and pinks!! If you are interested in buying this beautiful large single stamp it's $10.95 and can be found here: http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=133824 Happy crafting, Melissa Confession time-- this is my first attempt at washi tape! I love the All is Calm washi tape set and felt it was a great deal and could even transition beyond Christmas... So I bought it and then saw people who had layered it behind a cut out Tree Punch!! I thought it would be neater to punch out the washi tree and then have it pop out from a "snow globe" made with the stars embossing folder... Cut out your circle, then layer washi tape! Line up, left and right, in the punch and punch out! Then flip it over to emboss it in the big shot with the adorable Lucky Stars embossing folder! Then emboss Season's Greeting in silver at the bottom of a sheet (5.25 inch by 4 inch) of Lost Lagoon cardstock and tape down the snow globe. Then use two Dimensionals under the tree and tape it all to a standard white card front!! Happy crafting! Melissa Our team does a four card swap for every new catalog that comes out-- and it's holiday catalog time! We each pick a stamp set and I picked Merry Everything! I can't wait to get my swaps in the mail-- since they are in Texas I send my designs and they gather mine and send them back to me!! Here's my first card-- Halloween card with Tangelo Twist! This next one is my favorite because it uses Hello Honey and gold embossing on vellum!! I can't wait to make a few more of these! And this is my second favorite-- I love this embossing folder because it makes anything look super fancy! And that cherry cobbler ribbon is luscious! Now pardon this lopsided photo but apparently I didn't take a picture of this card completed-- so this is it in the planning stage... The Bermuda Bay star paper was part of the Halloween DSP but it screamed Christmas to me! So, what do we think?? Fun set of cards right? Merry Everything is a great set because it includes all three fall holidays plus a general tag for gifts-- love a multifunctioning stamp set! Happy crafting, Melissa |
