Last week Kaitlynn and I had fun at our College's "Cougar Coundown" Health Fair where we hosted a craft table! This is a week where students are taking their final exams and usually pretty stressed out... But our campus does a great job of planning study breaks that are awesome to get the students through the week! We did "adult coloring pages" and a scrap challenge. The students loved it-- as you can see below... This is a great way to get rid of old paper and clean out your stash! I will admit that I am a paper hoarder but doing this once a year will really help cut back on that habit! This student made a cute envelope on the front of her card! The colors came together so easy for this one! This was a sweet color combo! This ended up being the winner of the challenge!!! She did a great job pulling it all together! And this student impressed me with her quickness! Literally a minute for this? She walked up super confident, grabbed what she needed, and was done!!!!! I am so thankful to work on a campus that loves my craftiness!
happy crafting, Melissa

In celebration of World Card Making Day I had a few friends over and we made some nice cards for troops to write home! This card is my manly "love" cards for OWH's blog hop! And this is the pile of awesomeness headed out Monday!! It was a great afternoon service project and the ladies were great at amusing me-- they even rose to my "scrap challenge"-- meaning what can you make with just scraps!! Happy crafting! Melissa Want to know how things went this weekend?? Did my Stampin mojo return? Yep. 47 cards in one weekend! 1 weekly challenge card from team 26 swaps- 13 of each design. My stamp set is Sea Street. 2 more designs coming this weekend... Ten cards from that scrap pile a few weeks back-- all going to Operation Write Home And five from March's Paper Pumpkin and five from Everyday Occassions kit. But my phone died last night so no pics of that... Yet. Needless to say, a four day weekend kicked off by craft time at SpaceCraft was good for me! Happy crafting! This weeks challenge presented to my team was to tackle our scrap bucket and make something cool... I'm up for it! I have a cute paper bucket I got at Target in the dollar bin where I through my extras from projects: scraps, extra stampings, ribbon, buttons... But first, I had to dump it all out and sort it: Then I had to look for inspiration-- color combos, themes... This is the first set of projects ready to be created: That set will make 13 cards-- no kidding!! Now hopefully I have enough time tomorrow night to actually make them! |
