But, it's important to know what to expect right? And what kinds of things will make the weekend a good one for you?
I host two different styles of retreat-- traditional "crop" style retreats here in Texas at several locations AND destination retreats in Charleston, South Carolina.
It's meant to be a relaxing weekend and you make it what you want to make it. I give a swag bag with $50 in product and I design a class around that swag bag, but if you don't want to make it over the weekend-- that's up to you! It's very self-guided.
It's also all-inclusive minus a few meals that we eat out--- I cook at the house for everyone! Most people end up sharing a bed/room with another crafter, so this setting is more intimate too. I also love showering my guests with little pillow gifts and I have a local baker friend who brings us goodies like custom cookies and THE most delicious whoopie pies!
I bring a set of stamps, dies, punches, ink, and a few local friends bring a Stampin Cut and Emboss machine-- so as long as you have some consumable goods- you are good to go create!
In terms of items to work on-- you can bring your own OR you can choose to participate in the add-on classes that we offer. You could keep yourself busy just with the classes we offer (and the swag bag included class) or you could knock out some of your personal projects! We play Bingo on Saturday night (just like the Charleston retreat) and there are all the same little pillow gifts and opportunities to be loved on! At this event though we share some of the cooking load- so you can pay an additional $5 per meal.
Cream Cheese Picante Dip
4 packages-8oz each of cream cheese, softened. I used fat free.
Add: Pace Picante, I used mild- 24oz
Use mixer until smooth. I usually serve with Wheat Thins.
Cheeseball
2 packages cream cheese-softened
1 large can of crushed, drain well
3 bunches green onions, finely dice the green portion.
Tablespoon of minced garlic & red pepper flakes.
Teaspoon of season salt and seasoned pepper.
Mix all ingredients well, place on wax paper to shape and the roll in pecans. You can make into any shape you like. Refrigerate over night.
Hope this gave you some insight into the two different styles of retreats that I host!
