I was fortunate enough to spend most of my January free time playing with Brusho, a watercolor powder medium that I’ve never experienced before. I have quite a bit of experience with watercolor though but this is definitely different. I also had the opportunity to expose several crafty and artsy friends to the medium and teach about 45 Stampin’ Up! friends and fellow demonstrators some simple and impressive techniques...

My sweet friend Jamie Albanese made a card with Brusho where she died our white ribbon with it and I just cased it! So pretty!
There are two ways to do the Stained Glass technique - either painting the Brusho on the front side of the embossed vellum as seen below...
Or behind the vellum to give it a more muted look, as seen below.
You can also just use them how you would normally, mixing them in a palette and then in this case, paint inside an embossed image.
Another sweet demonstrator that I cased was Lyssa Zwolanek who used a baby wipe to sprinkle the power on and then smooshed the piece of paper on it. It makes for a very vibrant card front!
I had a small piece of our new glossy cardstock, so I heat embossed the flowers and then sprinkled the blue powder on and spritzed with alcohol. Tada!
This gallery shows you what I did for our demonstrator training in January in San Antonio. It was so fun to teach other demonstrators these terrific techniques and get messy!! The butterfly was heat embossed in clear on watercolor paper, then sprinkled, and spritzed with water. The flower image was sprinkled on the red rubber stamp, then spritzed, and stamped on Shimmery White Cardstock. Such a cool technique!
Here was some playing I did with a friend when she came over to stay with us for a few days... She has been taking college art classes so she had some cool ideas to get new colors-- lots of purple in these!
This was the same technique where we sprinkled on the red rubber stamp, then spritzed with water, and stamped. I then added some detail to the center of the flower with a black pen to match the DSP.
And finally I was pleased to get a pretty pink color on this one... I am telling you-- BRUSHO IS FUN! I hope you buy a set and start playing. You can get them in my online store. And one set will last you a LONG TIME!
