Convention was awesome! But who knew that one of the highlights would be a private class afterwards by Dee Tollaksen and Barbara Pisciotto on Bible Art Journaling and how to host a class on this cool topic!
I have wanted a way to dive back into the Bible and have tried a few different creative devotional activities but the concept of painting and drawing inside my Bible was foreign to me! I bought the recommended Journaling Bible and took it with me but was afraid to touch it (and mess it up)... Their session gave me the permission to dive in, express my faith, read and understand the word better, and tap into my creative side!
So below is my first attempt-- using a mask, sponge dauber, and ink mixed with white craft ink! Add a journaling pen and done!
This was the kit we received at the class and it had everything we needed to get started plus continue to inspire us! We got a PL journaling pen, 2 rolls of Washi tape, ink refill, craft white ink refill, candy dots, PL journaling cards, pencil, and a spritzer. The "gift card" was used to push paint around the pages-- so cool!!
I love this verse and it was so nice for them to give us this gorgeous book mark! I look forward to using this as inspiration for making my pages around this verse...
This cute little flash card set will come in handy for writing down verses to memorize! Additionally, I think it would make a cute "study break" activity for Cougar Countdown during final exam period for the college students!
This was the cute bag for our treats!
This was one of Dee's pages...
This was one of Barbara's pages...
And his was one of Dana's pages-- a guest presenter...
What a wonderful class! I felt my bucket filling the whole time and I came back with personal passion and a concept for a class I could host...
Happy crafting,
Melissa
