Therefore, I am SUPER blessed to be blog hopping this week!! You just arrived from Twila's blog-- isn't she terrific? Make sure that you keep hopping on over to Cindy's blog- I can't wait to see what she has designed for this month! Plus, keep reading for a chance to win a bunch of new crafty goodies! Each blogger will mail the winner a prize- so the winner will get 16 fun packages! Wow-- that's a lot of happy mail!
This month's challenge was all about the holidays! My college students keep asking what my favorite holiday is and it's Christmas. My birthday is the week before and our wedding anniversary is the week after-- it's a pretty magical time of the year for me and my family!
For my card this month, I knew I wanted to feature the Jar of Love set and VELLUM! I created this set of cards for a class last month and a few are CASEd (Copy and Share Everything) but the one in the middle is an adaptation of one from the holiday catalog, only...
Here is a close up view... I get lots of questions about using vellum because I use it a lot. Yes, you can heat emboss on it but you do need to be careful not to melt it and I would recommend using tweezers or a clipboard to hold down the piece you are embossing while it heats up. What else can you do on vellum? Well, you can stamp on it-- I prefer Memento ink. I had bad experiences with Staz On and our Basic Black- they both smeared. |
And yes, I think this tree with the red berries is gorgeous. We had one outside our office at UT San Antonio and I always loved taking pictures in front of it. Imagine my surprise when I found that we had one right in front of our townhome!!!??
